Can I stay overnight inside the crater?
No. Vehicles descend in the morning and must leave the crater floor by the evening. Lodges and camps are on the crater rim, and staying there lets you be among the first down in the morning.
Is the Ngorongoro Crater part of the Serengeti?
No. It sits in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which borders the Serengeti and is shared by wildlife and Maasai communities. Most safaris combine the two.
