Routes
Kilimanjaro routes
Routes differ in length, scenery, acclimatisation profile and traffic. Tell us your dates and experience and we will advise.
- Machame The “Whiskey” route — scenic and varied, over the Shira Plateau and up the Barranco Wall.
- Lemosho A remote western approach through rainforest, with time to acclimatise on the Shira Plateau.
- Marangu The classic “Coca-Cola” route and the only one with hut accommodation.
- Rongai A quieter, drier approach from the north, close to the Kenyan border.
- Northern Circuit The longest route, circling the peaceful northern slopes before the summit.
- Umbwe Short, steep and direct — for fit, experienced trekkers.
