Kenya’s capital is the gateway to most safaris, and it is well worth a day of its own. Nairobi National Park lies just outside the city: lions, rhinos and giraffes with the skyline behind them is one of Africa’s most unusual sights.
In the city, you can watch orphaned baby elephants at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust nursery, meet Rothschild’s giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, and visit the Karen Blixen Museum and the Nairobi National Museum.
