Bale Mountains National Park

In southern Ethiopia, the Bale Mountains rise to the Sanetti Plateau, the largest area of Afro-alpine habitat in Africa. It is the best place in the world to see the rare Ethiopian wolf.

Below the plateau, the Harenna Forest is one of Ethiopia’s largest remaining forests. Bale is a paradise for wildlife and bird lovers, with many species found only in Ethiopia, including the mountain nyala.
